Welcome back, Eagles! This is going to be an awesome year for our Junior High. I am excited about what you are going to learn, the fun activities we have planned, and the wonderful and caring teachers ready for the year. At Immanuel Schools, it is our mission to equip you to serve God and neighbor with mind, body, and soul, based on a Christ-centered foundation.

Our motto this year is Be Bold. It comes from our theme verse in Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

In the story of Joshua, we see how God fulfills the promise he made to Moses by giving the Israelites the land beyond the Jordan River. What strikes me about this story is that God commands Joshua to go boldly into that promise. A promise that may have excited, scared, exhausted, or surprised them at times. During all of it, God never left them. He helped them through each situation that arose so that they could follow his command of being strong and courageous.

Followers of Christ have that same promise from God. Hebrews 13:5 says, God will never leave us, nor forsake us. As we approach the 2019-2020 school year, you may feel like one of the Israelites. With God walking by our side however, we can boldly approach our school year, teachers, learning, friends, and activities and know that God will keep his promise. We can be strong and courageous because God is with us.

I am looking forward to this school year where I can get to know each of you on a personal level and help you see that God has a plan for you and wants to fulfill His promises in you too. I’m reminded of Romans 8:31 that says, ”If God is for us, who can be against us?”

Let’s walk through this year together boldly!

The Immanuel chapel experience is truly a highlight and central focus of attending Immanuel. Twice weekly, students in grades 7-12 join together for a time of worship and teaching that serves as a catalyst for their spiritual development. The Worship Fundamentals class helps create an environment in which students are free to worship through song in both energetic and introspective manners. The chapel band is comprised of students with a heart for worship who strive to lead the student body closer to the heart of Christ through current, modern praise and worship songs. Our outstanding chapel speakers, selected from area churches and Christian organizations, teach from the Word of God in practical and meaningful ways, challenging the students to grow in their faith. Monthly all-music chapels are held, with an opportunity for students to participate in communion and a time for worship, praise, introspection and prayer. Each year, the students experience two Spiritual Emphasis weeks, in the fall and spring, in which extra time is set aside to hone in on God’s Word and applications of His teachings. Students are further encouraged in their Life Groups, which meet bi-weekly and participate in Christian service projects in the community.

“Shout to the Lord, all the earth; break out in praise and sing for Joy!” Psalm 98:4

Technology is integrated into each classroom through teacher instruction and student access. Each student grades 7-12 is required to have an iPad
We offer students the chance to learn music fundamentals as well as performing arts. Our choir elective students participate in two wonderful school concerts; one each semester. Our drama elective students perform a high-quality drama in the Spring. Our Jr. High students are also given the opportunity to participate in some high school productions.
We believe in the importance of teaching our students the meaning of "Serve Beyond Self". Students and staff participate in various service projects throughout the year. An annual "Serve Day" gives Immanuel the opportunity to serve our neighbors and local community, while projects such as "Operation Christmas Child" spread the love of Jesus worldwide.
