THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

Thought for the Day

God wants you to live a life free from worry. But that’s a lot harder to do than you might think. It’s really easy to want to take the concerns of life on yourself. Maybe you’re stressed about getting into the right college. Or you’re worried that your mom might get mad at you if you tell her how you did on your math final. It’s so easy to take the worries and cares of life on yourself. When you do that, you make yourself unhappy and stressed out. You weren’t built to handle the stress of life on your own. It’s something that you weren’t made to carry. So take those things that concern you to God every day. Let Him help you carry your concerns and worries. Put those things on Him and let Him deal with them. You aren’t built to carry them and you don’t need to. So put your trust in God and know that He is fighting for you. Do your best and trust God to do the rest!

The Landing Teen Recovery from HURTS, HABITS, & HANGUPS

So often for most students, they have STUFF in their lives. It happens along the way, and sometimes it’s so small they just don’t deal with it. Or it’s so big it’s too much to deal with. It begins to change their lives and the person they’ve become. But it’s a slow process, so they just see it as a normal part of life. They wind up becoming someone they were never intended to be. And so often they just live in their HURT, or HABIT, or HANGUP accepting a paralyzed life of self bondage. I encourage you to invite the students you know to join us on Tuesday nights. There’s no shame in working through the things that have caused them such negativity in their lives. At the Landing there is Hope and Love. It’s a safe place of acceptance with no judgment. A place of anonymity and confidentially, where the journey of recovery from life’s hurts, habits, and hang-ups can begin. Grant Thiessen
